Newsletter #19: Sportscraft Collaboration for Wool Week 2018

Hi All, I hope you are well.

Today marks four weeks since the passing of my beautiful mother Marion Walsham. I was truly blessed to have known this wonderful, strong, supportive and loving woman. My love for her was profound and, as you all can imagine, I miss her every moment of everyday. It is a surreal feeling to be untethered from your mum. And untethered is how I currently feel. I know with time that the uncertainty will pass and I will adapt to a new way of being. In the meantime, I am relying on my old stalwart, beautiful merino wool and my creative practice, to soothe my very weary soul.

I was very fortunate to recently spend a week in the beautiful flagship store of Sportscraft in Westfield Sydney. The timing was perfect. I was commissioned by Sportscraft to create a live installation in their shopfront to honour their 54 year partnership with Woolmark and The Woolmark Company. Australian wool looms large in the Sportscraft fashion range. I was able to wear a new outfit everyday during the installation and I loved every minute of that. I even got a chance to put my old retailers hat back on and encourage some sales. You can take the girl out of retail but you can't take retail out of the girl. Fun times.

A very special thanks to the team at Sportscraft. I will never forget your kind and sensitive support of me through what has been a very sad time. You are good people. Love you lots xxx

It took four days to complete the installation. I used approximately 70 kilograms of 17.5 micron Australian Merino Wool. The good stuff! Thank you to all the lovely visitors who came into chat whilst I worked.
