K1S1 is Little Dandelion's DIY extreme knitting yarn. Made in New Zealand by a specialist Mill to my specifications from fine grade merino wool, K1S1 replicates the same scale I create using unspun wool without requiring the same time consuming processes.  K1S1 is not a rug yarn. It is a high grade luxurious fully felted technical knitting yarn specifically designed for textile use. Unlike unspun wool, K1S1 will not shed, has a high degree of functionality and a low pilling quotient.

The 1.5kg bump is a perfect size for scarves, beanies and smaller projects like a lap rug.

Before purchasing a bump, please read my Hot Tips and the Disclaimer on the K1S1 page. Knitting on such a large scale is not for the faint hearted so you need to be sure you are up for the physical challenge.

Before knitting, I recommend unwinding  lengths of yarn at a time and allowing it to recover its shape before knitting. This process will naturally continue over time.

Infrequent Dry Clean Delicate recommended. A gentle hand wash in lukewarm water using wool wash is possible although the size of the made up throw makes this a big and wet project. If you are up for it, remove as much as the excess water as you can before drying. A gentle spin cycle in your washing machine is effective if you think the throw will fit. Lay flat to dry. Drying in the shade is recommended as exposure to direct sunlight may cause the wool to fade.

Handle and store with care.  Due to the delicate nature of the wool any contact with rough surfaces and sharp objects may result in pulls and damage.

K1S1 has been specially designed to have a low pilling quotient. However, pilling may also occur as it is a natural result of friction. It can be easily removed by snipping off any "balls" of wool. Pilling does not constitute a defect.
