This is a bespoke oversized hand knitted throw in a duo cable stitch using Little Dandelion's bespoke K1S1 extreme knitting yarn. K1S1 is a technical yarn  and is made from fine merino tops which are twisted and then felted before being wound into luscious bumps. This means that the yarn won't shed or pill excessively with use. It has a high degree of functionality, is easy to care for and still retains a beautiful soft handle and draping quality. The throw is knitted as one piece by me in my home in Sydney, Australia using industrial sized knitting needles.

Due to the handmade nature of my work, each piece contains beautiful irregularities. These should not be considered imperfections but rather the hallmarks of a unique handmade product.

A K1S1 Extreme Throw is functional, super soft and comforting. Due to their oversized scale, they add an amazing textural element to a room and many of my clients have kindly described them as works of art or a decorational luxury.

Care

Before knitting, I recommend unwinding  lengths of yarn at a time and allowing it to recover its shape before knitting. This process will naturally continue over time.

Infrequent Dry Clean Delicate recommended. A gentle hand wash in lukewarm water using wool wash is possible although the size of the made up throw makes this a big and wet project. If you are up for it, remove as much as the excess water as you can before drying. A gentle spin cycle in your washing machine is effective if you think the throw will fit. Lay flat to dry. Drying in the shade is recommended as exposure to direct sunlight may cause the wool to fade.

Handle and store with care.  Any contact with rough surfaces and sharp objects may result in damage.

K1S1 has been specially designed to have a low pilling quotient. However, pilling may also occur as it is a natural result of friction. It can be easily removed by snipping off any "balls" of wool. Pilling does not constitute a defect.
